Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines as needed
- Provide management with information, metrics and incisive commentary vital to the decision-making process to affect positive change
- Produce financial-status reports for senior management to help improve operational efficiency and aid in the company’s growth
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Manage day-to-day cash flow and check product costing using our ERP system - Global Shop. The findings will be presented in monthly meetings.
- Define annual budgets and manage accounting ledger and transactions
- Prepare journal entries and financial statements, as required
- Generate customer sales invoices
- Release new engineering program and internal R&D work orders, as required
- Manage company insurance programs
- Lead month-end closing process
- Process payroll in coordination with Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
- Maintain PTO sheets for use in bi-weekly payroll
- Keep control of inventory including updating inventory transactions; participate in year-end inventory observation and conduct obsolescence review/analysis
- Maintain month-end Contract Work-In-Process and record revenue on long-term engineering/development contracts
- Preparation of audit request list items for year-end fieldwork performed by outside CPA firm (in conjunction with production of year-end audited financial statements)
- Maintain relationships with external auditors and banks
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
- Generate Forms 1099-NEC for printing and filing in January (each year)
- Utilize (3rd party) SOVOS portal for generating annual company form 1094-C and employee 1095-C forms in order to maintain compliance with Affordable Care Act (“ACA”)
- Use salary surveys for all positions of the company for use in annual Comp Review
- Develop comp increase worksheet and work with managers for communication of raises
- Complete and submit PEO change forms for raises, change in supervisors, job titles, etc.
- Work with supervisors for measurement and evaluation of annual employee bonuses
- Participate in annual PEO renewal process (each summer); consider comparing benefits/fees and rates with our PEO’s competitors
Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is required
- 5 years of experience as a Accounting Manager or similar role
- Proven knowledge of accounting and finance
- Proven ability to build out an accounting function and team for a fast-growing organization
- Experience preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements
- Experience with ERP and accounting software systems
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel
- Willingness to work in an office environment

Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities, however, the candidate must be able to lead teams both internally & externally.
