Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assemble high precision motor, generator and turbo machinery equipment components and systems
- Execute test operations with engineering instruction and document results
- Route wires, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components.
- Follow assembly instructions, prints, and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical parts.
- Read schematics and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficiency and safety of the installation.
- Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment repairs.
- Manufacture custom wiring harness to fit equipment.
- Route, comb, twist, tie wrap, and attach wire to terminal points, according to layout, using soldering gun and hand tools.
- Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness and plugs, using ohmmeter, ammeter, oscilloscopes ,test lights and other electrical testing instruments.
- Wire and terminate components , such as relays, circuit breakers, connectors, switches, circuit breakers, buss panels and reconnection boards.
- Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Fabricate, form, and assemble parts, according to specifications, using drills, calipers, micrometers, height gages, cutters, and saws.
- Logging in to proper sequences according to routing/traveler
- Ability to use hand and power tools, as well as operate forklifts and cranes.
- Field support to assist in commissioning and troubleshooting as required.
- Follow all safety procedures in handling equipment and machines.
- Follow the company safety policy to wear safety glasses & shoes when required.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
- 3-5 years electrical manufacturing experience
- Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Ability to manage time & work well under pressure.
- Attention to detail is a must; perform all tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Team player with good communication skills
- Additional computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with variable frequency drives is a benefit
- 2 years soldering experience.
- Experience with RS-232/485 communication and MODBUS protocols
- Experience with AC-DC conversion equipment and motor drives
- Experience in a clean energy company
- Experience working in a small to mid-size company where the efforts of one or two individuals are very impactful.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Candidate will not typically be travelling, however must be able to travel up to 5% of the time to support field operations as necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
