Every year, Octane, a trailblazing organization at the forefront of Southern California’s technology and medical technology business ecosystem, brings together leaders in Orange County to celebrate innovation. This year, Sapphire Technologies was honored to be among the recipients of Octane’s High Tech Awards.
Sapphire Technologies was named Best Green Tech / Clean Tech Company for our commitment to shaping environmentally sustainable business practices in the energy sector. Sapphire Technologies develops and manufactures energy recovery systems such as turboexpanders that harness the power of gas expansion to produce reliable and clean electricity – reducing global carbon footprint. Our systems are designed to convert energy wasted in pressure reduction processes into electric power. By recovering this wasted pressure energy, we help companies reduce carbon emissions and generate cashflow.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Octane OC,” said Sapphire Technologies CEO Freddie Sarhan. “Orange County is a hot bed for clean technology innovation. Sapphire Technologies’ rapid success in scaling the deployment of our FreeSpin® In-line Turboexpander has been thanks in part to Southern California’s robust ecosystem of talent, partnerships, and resources for energy transformation and climate innovation.”
According to VoiceofOC.org, Orange County is home to more than 300 clean-tech startups. Octane’s 2023 High Tech Award winners included additional companies in clean-tech and energy. Menlo Microsystems, which creates more energy efficient electronic switches, was named Octane OC’s Best Technology Company of the year. Additionally, Enevate, which licenses battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), received Octane OC’s Best B2B Technology / Enterprise Technology award.
Congratulations to all the 2023 Octane OC Award Winners for their work in transforming the energy, medical, and manufacturing sectors.
